I’ve always been fascinated by the world of financial planning. I always enjoyed reading with great interest the latest in the financial journals. So, I decided to enroll in an online financial planning course that satisfied the education requirements to take the CFP exam, and it confirmed that I indeed was on the right path. After spending twenty years in accounting and IT for a fortune 500 corporation, I decided to pursue my passion for financial planning. I wanted to help families achieve financial peace in their life by simplifying the process. Financial planning is like a puzzle; you just have to put the pieces in the right places to have a sound plan.
I always enjoy being challenged in my work and working with others. One of my greatest achievements as a professional was to be part of the pioneer job share position in the company. Even though I had no prior experience in information technology, I was very interested in a job share position. I was excited to have the challenge of learning something new. My co-worker and I proved to the corporation that this type of working arrangement could be beneficial, not only to the employees, but to the company as a whole. Our pioneering efforts paved the way for others to benefit from this type of arrangement.
As a mother of two middle school children, I understand the reality of the rising cost of college. So, I decided to specialize in college planning to help families achieve their goal of sending their children to college without sacrificing their own retirement. I earned the Certified College Planning Specialist(CCPS) designation from the National Institute of Certified College Planners.
I received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting/Marketing from The University of Texas at Arlington. I’m currently working toward obtaining the CFP® mark and CPA designation.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming, and hiking in the National Parks.
